Tonus Peregrinus is one of the most exciting young choral ensembles in Britain. Their debut recording in 2003 of Arvo Pärt's Passio quickly reached number one in the classical music charts and was chosen as Editor's Choice in Gramophone magazine. This award has also recently been given to the ensemble's new Hyperion release of Antony Pitts' Seven Letters, whilst their Passio recording has received further accolade by being awarded a prestigious Cannes Classical Award.
Tonus Peregrinus 2005 Naxos CD 'Sacred Music from Notre-Dame Cathedral' was nominated for the first ever BBC Music Magazine Awards in March 2006. The excellent recording, with works by Leonin and Perotin, was hailed by critics as “utterly beguiling…”. Tonus Peregrinus was the only Early Music nomination by several hundred years, the two other nominees being the King’s Consort and the RIAS-Kammerchor.

Their latest CD recording of the first-ever opera is released on Monday April 3rd 2006. 'Le Jeu de Robin et Marion', with music by Adam de la Halle, is the latest in a new series of Tonus Peregrinus recordings for Naxos featuring some of the most important milestones of early Western music.
